This page tells you exactly what The Elephant Cover is made of and exactly where its safety limits are โ€” no marketing language, no softening it. Read it the way you'd read a policy before you agree to it, because that's what this is.

By completing a purchase, you're confirming you've read this page in full and understand what the product is, what it's made of, and what it does and doesn't do.
Section 1
What it's made of

PETG. On purpose, not by default.

Every Elephant Cover is printed in PETG โ€” the same plastic family as most reusable water bottles. That wasn't the easy default (PLA is cheaper and more common in 3D printing); it's the material that actually survives being on a drink.

Why PETG over PLA

PETG holds up to roughly 75โ€“80ยฐC before it softens โ€” PLA starts sagging around 55ยฐC, which matters if your can's been sitting in a hot car or you're holding a warm drink. PETG is also tougher and more flexible, which the trunk's pivot needs to survive repeated motion without cracking.

How it's produced

Every cover is 3D-printed (FDM), one at a time, after you order โ€” in the color you pick. That's why there's a short make-time before it ships. It's a single piece of PETG: no mixed materials, no metal inserts, no second part to separate out later.

Section 2

What you're acknowledging, plainly stated.

Section 3
Originality & rights

We did the homework before we sold anything.

Before launching, we researched whether a tab-pivoting can cover like this could infringe on anyone else's patent. The pivot-on-the-tab mechanism traces back to prior patent filings that are now expired or abandoned โ€” meaning the core idea is public domain, nobody holds an active claim on it, and this design isn't built on someone else's protected work. We looked into it because we'd rather know than guess.

Section 4
Who's behind this

A real person, printing these by hand.

The Elephant Cover is a Ruthless Ideas product โ€” designed, printed, and launched live on stream, not by a faceless storefront. It's built in the open on purpose: you're seeing it at the same raw, early stage it's being built at, disclosures included. If something's wrong with your order or you've got a question this page didn't answer, reach out โ€” drop your email on the main page and you'll get a direct reply.

By purchasing The Elephant Cover, you confirm you've read Sections 1โ€“4 above and understand what the product is, what it's made of, and its stated limitations.
